DocuSystems owner David Hobson believes in great products and top-notch customer service. “It all depends on how you take care of people,” he said Thursday. “This applies to my customers and my employees. Most businesses find it difficult to find help. I have people lined up who want to work here.

DocuSystems Co., Inc. is located at 3801 US 29, Danville and is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Hobson is proud to offer Konica Minolta Business Solutions products for sale, rental, rental and service. The company is also an authorized KIP large format reseller who works with rental sites, architects and construction companies. They also provide services for other brands of copiers and printers including Hewlett Packard (HP), Canon, Sharp and others.

He worked in this company for about 30 years, ten of which were in another company until he decided to start his own business. DocuSystems will soon be celebrating 20 years of service after opening on October 20, 2002. “You have to grow with the times and get the training and education you need,” he adds.

The company started small with two employees, but has now grown to 12 employees of whom he is proud.

DocuSystems has a wide range of customers, including being the only Konica Minolta reseller in the Southside to provide Virginia State contract sales and services. DocuSystems provides service to many schools including Halifax, Pittsylvania County, Danville Public Schools, and many area colleges.

The PATHS sites are customers as well as US national banks in two states. “We offer nothing but the best products that are environmentally friendly, energy efficient and don’t break down very often,” he explains.

Hobson attributes his success to finding the right way to do things and using those practices in his business. He adds that “common sense also goes a long way! “

Looking back on the years, he says that 30 years ago he dreamed of owning a business. “If you don’t have a dream, you have nothing.”

Things are looking good for the company as it continues to grow. In mid-January, he will open another store that can offer additional products and services.

River City Printing Solutions will be located at 511 Memorial Drive, Danville and will feature promotional products, banners, signs, printing solutions, walk-in photocopying service and, later, parcel post service. A grand opening will take place later in January.

“I want to thank my IT services and departments for the way they take care of our customers. They go to school to learn what they need. Knowledge and training are of the utmost importance. I never thought I would get this far and I thank God for blessing me with this endeavor, ”he adds in closing.
